We re-opened on Saturday July 4th with a number of changes to the way that we operate.
Most obviously, there will be a marquee in the back garden where we will be able to fit up to ten tables for eating and drinking. This will provide us with some ‘indoor/outdoor’ space in addition to the inside of the pub and the outdoors of the front garden.
There will be no bar service. We will ask our customers to sanitise their hands on entry to the pub to sit promptly at a table that will have been allocated to you, if you have booked a table. When we are busy, all food and drink orders will be taken at your table.
There will be hand sanitiser stations around the pub and additional toilets outside.
We have to ask all our customers, with and without bookings, to leave us with their name and telephone number which we will keep for 21 days in line with government guidelines.
The inside of the pub will be ventilated as well as is possible, depending on the weather.
All of our staff have been trained about how to approach tables and sanitation. We feel that disposable gloves can lead to complacency and so are asking our staff to wash and sanitise their hands after every transaction.
All cutlery and plates will have been washed and sanitised and will only be laid on the table should you need them.
Card payments are preferable to cash but we will still accept cash.
We have a wide range of cleaning schedules and protocols that we will be carrying out behind the scenes, which will help to ensure your safety at The Compasses Inn.
Most importantly, we are very excited about welcoming you back through the door and providing some welcome relief, good food, and a smile after all this time. We may have to wait a little while for hugs…
Thank you all so much for your continued support of The Compasses Inn.
With love,
Ben
